Welcome to GWRRA Chapter LA-H, also known as the Bayou Bandits
Chapter H was formed in 1995 when GWRRA members Percy & Nancy Benoit realized that there was a need for a Gold Wing Chapter in Houma, Louisiana. Members from Chapter K & F along with Percy & Nancy voluntarily associated themselves for the purpose to become a chapter and adopt a Chapter Charter. Chapter H was Chartered on November 2, 1995.
The chapter was held together by the Benoit family plus some of the Charter members, Bernie Caruso, Eddie & Theresa Maurterer to name a few until the Chapter started growing. The Chapter started to grow at the end of 1999; it went from 5-8 members to 20-30 members by the end of 2000. Chapter H welcomes all types of motorcycles and the motorcyclist that like to feel the wind in their face The Chapter grew to around 70 members by 2002 and as time passed by the Chapter was best known for its Progressive Dinner Ride in the spring that attracted as many as 100 bikes with 150-175 people.
